Explore one
of the most photographed and painted
villages in Nova Scotia. Then, relax
and enjoy a day at an ocean beach. Revealed
on this tour of the Nova Scotia
Bicycle Book are two of the many
destinations you can reach from Lunenburg,
Nova Scotia's City of the Sea
.
With little doubt, it can be said
that this area has been a favourite
for t he many who have used the Nova
Scotia Bicycle Book . The fishing village
of Blue Rocks has as much scenic as
Peggy's Cove- without the crowds. Isolated
fishing sheds with weathered shingles
perch precariously on rocks in small
coves, as Cape Islander boats putter
in and out of the bay.
Stonehurst East and West are recommended
as side trips, well- worth the 10.0
km (6 mi.) detour. There are several
such diversions which are offered to
extend the ride to make a longer outing.
Hirtle's and Kingsburg Beach: In the
book are two selected pleasant sandy
beaches, in beautiful surroundings.
Water on Nova Scotia's Atlantic shore
has a range in temperature- from freezing
to bracing. However, the sands are warm
and provide a nice spot to relax, read,
or look out at the sea.
The rides described are both small
enough to go slow and enjoy. You can
easily spend all day enjoying the view
and atmosphere here. They also make
great evening runs from your campsite
or B+B. Lunenburg is the tour start
point of both tours
