Tour 19 Sambro

Distance: 64 km (40 miles)

Starting Point: Halifax

Region: Metro Halifax

Terrain: Hilly

A ride into Halifax's marine environs. This is a scenic coastal journey to a sandy beach. It provides a brief excursion into Halifax County's marine environs. Along the approaches of Halifax Harbour are a multitude of vessels ...tug boats, container ships, oil tankers, military destroyers and supply ships, the coast guard, occasional cruise liners, fishing boats, and countless pleasure craft.

Crystal Crescent Beach awaits you, just past the fishing village of Sambro. Diversions are available along the way turning this tour, if desired, into an all-day excursion.

Going in a loop is possible. However, the interior is a bit drab, with a long linear stretch of new housing and truck related industry. This ride returns the same way, along the shore. The change in direction on your return provides completely different view
