Tour 24 Windsor / Newport

Distance: 48 km (30 miles)

Starting Point: Windsor; Brooklyn

Region: Central Nova Scotia

Terrain: Hilly

Home of North America's oldest agricultural fair ...founding place of the country's first college ...in possession of the only blockhouse in Canada ..home of North America's first humorist ... the possible birth place of ice hockey ...and built on ground that sprouts the largest vegetables on earth - there's a lot that makes the town of Windsor special!!

A suitable location to base yourself for several rides, Windsor is the starting point for this tour of the Nova Scotia Bicycle Book , going to the old shipbuilding village of Newport Landing.

Along the way you will visit the Meander River, among the best places to see Nova Scotia's famous tidal bore. It can vary here, from 26 cm (10 in.) to 1 m (32 in.), depending on the moon and other factors.

The total distance is 48 KM (30 miles). There are options you can add for a longer route, and if you start at the village Brooklyn, you can also make it a shorter run.
