Tour 28 Springhill / Wentworth

Distance: 53 km (33 miles)

Starting Point: Springhill; Wentworth

Region: Northern Nova Scotia

Terrain: Rolling to hilly

In this marine oriented province, inland areas go ignored, and that is a shame. In the northern mainland of Nova Scotia, magnificent coastal bike rides follow both the Bay of Fundy and the Northumberland Strait.
Vying with these shores for your attention is this pleasant inland tour outlined in the Nova Scotia Bicycle Book, along the base of the Cobequid Hills. This is most certainly a "hidden corner" of Nova Scotia. Once the primary cross-province trail for the Mic Mac (Indians), and later, pioneer settlers, today it it is a back road. The Trans-Canada High way (#104) thunders through this region. It siphons off all traffic for miles, leaving the back areas free for car-less biking.
