Tour 31 Cape George

Distance: 48 km (30 miles) (longer options possible)

Starting Point: Antigonish; Malignant Cove

Region: Eastern Nova Scotia

Terrain: One GIANT hill

This route is a loop around Cape George. It begins in Antigonish, university town, county seat, and stronghold of Scottish heritage. This tour requires reasonably fit cyclists.

From atop Cape George (304 m / 1,000 ft.) you can see across St. George's Bay to Cape Breton Island's hills along the skyline. The same chain of hills which form the Cabot Trail, it pops up again on the other side of the bay and runs eastward, increasing in size one reaching Cape Breton Highlands National Park.
