Atlantic Canada's distinct image comes from it being mostly comprised
of peninsulas and islands, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean.
While is it is mostly rural in nature, it lies in close proximity
to the major population zones of the continent. It lies to the
east of Canada's two largest provinces - Ontario and Quebec. It
is also very popular with Americans, who can reach New Brunswick,
or ferries to Nova Scotia from the State of Maine. It is only
a few hours drive from the large population regions of the New
England and Mid-Atlantic States.
