Comments – Cape Breton Island Bicycle Tour
We enjoyed our Liked the comprehensiveness of the way the tour was organized, the staff and the way the tour was supported. We had a great time, your staff is terrific, the days were well planned.
Thank you, thank you, thank you…it was life altering!
Thanks for everything including all my questions. Thanks also for all the wonderful riding routes, especially the ride from Dingwall to Cheticamp.
I'm always looking for ways to de-stress my life. For me, an adventure vacation is an amazing opportunity to meet people with similar interests and set life's worries aside. I kept in contact with my family but did not check my email - not even once.
I did the Cape Breton trail twice with Gary! Loved every moment of it. He’s a great organiser.
Been There...Done That - ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!! Thank you Atlantic Canada Cycling!!!
What a great vacation it was! We were a very great group and we enjoyed the company of each of you! Also thanks for the amazing organization! Everything was perfect!
Au revoir! Hope to see you again in the future!
Thanks for another fantastic and memorable trip. You guys do a great job.
Finished the Cape Breton tour on Monday with a great group of folks. Thank you for a wonderful week of cycling.
I biked three summers--Cape Breton Island, Newfoundland and Quebec Province-- with Gary and ACC, and had a blast every time. I enthusiastically tell anyone who bikes about his tours.
Great job planning out route -- everyone commented on how it progressed so perfectly day-by-day building up to the spectacular days of climbing on the Cabot Trail.
I truly hope everyone had as great a time as I did. It was by far the most fun I had on a bike tour.
Wow! How can we thank you enough for this life changing experience. You gave us such a gift! Thank you for being you!
When the eight days were over I was glad that I had done all of the climbs, seen all the great wildlife, and met all of the great people whom I hope to keep in touch with.
The tour was great - the maps and route planning were exceptional.
Spectacular riding and great company. I couldn't have imagined it better. Thank you for a great experience everyone. Great program and support; don't change a thing.
I love that my pics are still up on the Cape Breton tour! Time of my life.
I did a circuit of Cape Breton Island with this company. One of the most memorable trips of my life.
My first ride, Baja, Mexico was done in the 80's. The second goal was the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. I rode this in July. The opportunity was Gary Conrod, (www.atlanticcanadacycling.com) who conducted a tour of the trail as part of his schedule of rides.
Gary runs well organized but hands off tours. He trucks your luggage, arranges for campgrounds, and supplies a simple route sheet. The rest is up to you. The cue sheet gives one word directions (left, right) at local landmarks. One day he used an actual sentence... “Left, Listen! We Said Left! Don’t Go Up The Hill”. You get the idea. A unique feature of the cue sheet is that it locates the first and last restaurant of the day and a likely stop for lunch (if they are open). And for those eating in camp, the location of a store where you may put your bagged purchase in a bin provided. Gary will then pick it up and bring it to camp for the end of the day. Ice cream is not a good purchase.
This will be tour number 6 with you and all my memories of cycling with your company are wonderful. I look forward to cycling Cape Breton Island again with you and your staff. I'm trying to talk a few other friends in coming up for the tour but I don't think I'll have any takers...but you never know.
My son and I just signed up for the Cape Breton Tour.We did the PEI tour two years ago and had a great time. We are a little worried about the mountains on this tour but we started our training yesterday. And it is good to know that Gary and his crew are only a phone call away.
I remember the Cape Breton tour clearly. It was fantastic. I hope to do another tour with ACC one day... sooner than later.
The last eight days couldn't have been better. Grateful to all of you for the kindness, inspiration, hilarity, & rich memories
Congratulations on another fine trip. The tour allowed sufficient opportunities for additional mileage. The tour gives back more than what is paid for. Looking forward to next year if I can make it.
Your chosen routes clearly had scenic and low-traffic advantages.
It was better than expected. Lots of support, camaraderie and amazing cycling!
Extremely well run tour. Rules to make it nice for everyone, but not in your face. This was one of my BEST vacations ever!
The trip was a joy in many ways. Very challenging for me, but finding that I could do it was exhilarating. I’ve returned in a better place with myself and the world. Ill detour for the Newfoundland tour next year.
I think the routes, the mileage, the sequence of the challenges, were all just right... At first, I was thinking the days were too short, but then I realized that not only was there plenty else to do, but there was lots of recovery time for the next challenge.
Everything was so well organized and I felt safe and cared for throughout the entire trip.
Beautiful landscapes, good exercise, and meeting nice like-minded people. Cape Breton blew my expectations away with the landscape and elevation. Very fun, beautiful and GREAT exercise.
Spectacular riding and great company. I couldn't have imagined it better. Thank you for a great experience everyone. Great program and support Gary, Ed and Jason; don't change a thing. Ed, I'm coming back for some of your chowder. Maybe Newfoundland next year? Best everyone
It's been years since I participated in the ACC Cape Breton tour, but I look back at it fondly.
I definitely feel that I got my money's worth from the trip, and will probably do another one of your excursions sometime soon.
Campgrounds were good and the food system -- which we were hesitant about before the trip, not sure how well it would work -- actually was great. Great setup with the dishes and cooking tools, crate and cooler system, and daily grocery pickups.
Thanks for making the biking so much easier. Great routes. I’d like to do another tour with you another time.
What a great bike ride it was! We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent with each one of you. Group dynamics were important, and it was good.
Thank you for your fantastic support on our trip! We got a real taste of the hills of Cape Breton!
Thank you all for a wonderful time I will never forget! It was a great time meeting and hanging out with each and every one of you.
We loved it. A simple inexpensive, no frills tour. Just what we were looking for.
Had a blast. Good luck and see you again!
I just wanted to say thank you in general for a wow tour. I thought you id a fine job of working hard to meet our needs and answer our unending questions.
I have been on Gary's Cabot Trail ride sixteen times going back to 1992. I went on the Gaspe Tour two summers ago. Cape Breton is a gem.
We did the Cabot Trail on rented hybrids and had no trouble with the hills. Suggest you do some hill work prior to the tour. It’s a very nice scenic tour and ACC does a great job with supporting the riders. Enjoy.
I loved it! The distances were manageable, the campgrounds were lovely and the biking was beyond amazing!!
You were
- SO
supportive
The group dynamics were the most important factor to me in having a good tour and they were really excellent. There was a positive supportive and hospitable energy on the whole tour. It feels wrong not to be seeing you all again! I'm certainly up for more ACC tours in the future. Peace, love, happiness...see you on the road.
I liked the fact that everyone can do the trip in their own way - no pressure to be anywhere and no competition. You can feel free to do what you can at your own speed.
A great legacy Gary! Memories I will always treasure! See you on down the road…
Very good value (already planning next one).
