Cycling Tour of the Eastern Townships – British History and Québécois Tradition
This tour of Quebec’s Eastern Townships, known in French as Cantons de l’Est, enjoys relaxing days of cycling in the lush lowlands part of the region. Staying west of Lake Memphremagog, it begins with a couple of days in the nearby Montérégie region then moves eastward into the interesting french-speaking, but New England charm of Quebec’s Eastern Townships.
This is a very different tour than the other tour ACC has designed in the Eastern Townships. The Highlands Tour is more challenging. It goes to more natural areas. It visits the highlands and many natural areas.
We will be amid Francophone culture and its friendly people. The towns and villages will offer us many places to linger – at small cafes with excellent coffee, farm markets, family-run boulangeries and fromageries, chocolate makers, maple sugar farms, wineries, and craft cider and beer makers. This is an enjoyable tour meant to stop and enjoy everything we find along the road.
