Our Tour Participants Are The Greatest
Here are more comments sent our way. Thanks again to all who join us for our bicycle tours each summer.
Thank you for such a memorable vacation!! I am definitely going to do this tour again!
Had so much fun on PEI tour!!
I truly hope everyone had as great a time as I did. It was by far the most fun I had on a bike tour.
I rode a couple of times with you on Cabot Trail trip. I still wear the ti-shirt from the trip. Maybe you remember me, I had all kinds of bicycle trouble, My front gears feel apart on the first day, my bicycle seat broke off on the second day and on the third day my front tire needed to be changed. You never asked for any extra money only the cost of the new tire. At the end of the trip I gave you $100 for all your troubles, but you deserved much more.
Thanks to you again for all the help. It was a fanatastic trip despite all my bike problems.
I like how relaxed the itinerary was laid out – we had the option of eating out or buying food to cook ourselves. It was helpful to have those hints mentioned on our maps for sure.
Appreciated the sense of camaraderie amongst cyclists. …all for one …one for all kind of spirit. That attracts me. Loved it. Thanks for the memories!
Thanks to the support drivers and all staff. An excellent show of teamwork. Very pleased with all. Each and every one on staff a great big thank-you. You worked hard.
Thanks – amazing life experience!
I think the routes, the mileage, the sequence of the challenges, were all just right… At first, I was thinking the days were too short, but then I realized that not only was there plenty else to do, but there was lots of recovery time for the next challenge.
Another 10/10 trip – excellent views, routes, and friends.
You should be proud of this event. Its well organized, in beautiful country, with nice people. It’s also a lot of fun.
We like the relaxed format (ie no guided bike tour, etc.) where you can do your own thing each day. As repeat people, its really fun to meet up with people we have met on the other tours.
After that first tour I decided to do as many of your tours as I could over the years. Thank you for yet another great tour. Hope to see you again in another year or so.
Perfect, with lots of time to get off the bike, relax, shop for food, etc.
I really enjoyed this low-key type of tour. Terrific!
It’s been years since I participated in the ACC Cape Breton tour, but I look back at it fondly.
I hope to do Cape Breton this year. I very much enjoyed how well you and your guys organized PEI. Thanks!
Meeting new people from all over, coming together, making new friends and bicycling. It can’t get any better than that.
Thank you for leading a terrific cycling tour. It certainly has met all my expectations. Hope to see you on another trip
Good rides, good roads, good company.
Ann and I really enjoyed the experience sharing this trip with the group…..a lifetime of memories for sure!
We loved the trip. It’s a real privilege to be able to see the area, travel with a group of like-minded cyclists in a thoughtfully designed tour.
It was a grand time. Loved the mix of trails and over the hills rides. Having to break-down and move camp only every other day was a real nice feature of this tour. Spectacular feeling on the road and views. Description of the trip should not lead participants to think it is all bike paths. I love paths because am very traffic adverse, but the better scenery is often the backroads over hill and dale rather than along old rail lines.
I appreciated the slow transition into more challenging rides as the tour progressed each day offered new sights to see and appreciate. I always felt safe and accounted for throughout each ride and that I would make it safely to the day’s final destination despite any accidental detours. Overall it was an amazing trip and I hope to join other tours in the future.
Thanks for everything including all my questions. Thanks also for all the wonderful riding routes, especially the ride from Dingwall to Cheticamp.
We enjoyed our Liked the comprehensiveness of the way the tour was organized, the staff and the way the tour was supported. We had a great time, your staff is terrific, the days were well planned.
I had been worried that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the more experienced bikers, but I found it was easy to find a niche. Made some terrific friends.
You run a great adventure tour, and I thank you again. See you next summer.
Thanks for going the extra mile.
Would like to offer congratulations to all who had a hand in the organization – and a big thank-you.
Very helpful crew, nice quiet roads, interesting things to see along the way, and an ideal size of the group. I wish the maps were more detailed so we could actually follow them on the road.
I hope to join another tour next year.
Everything operated like clockwork. Everyone connected with ACC did everything to make the trip enjoyable. I do enjoy the flexibility that is a characteristic of ACC tours. Great crew. Throughly enjoyed all aspects of the tour.
My expectations were pretty much what you provide — the infrastructure to do what is primarily a self-guided but semi-supported trip in a remote place. (I’ve done this sort of thing before). By semi-supported I mean the personal accountability for cooking, shopping, setting up tents, etc. I think there are other people who might have a higher expectation for a guide giving more info about the area, or more comfort, but that wasn’t what mine was. I expect to have maps and a workable route, know I don’t have to worry about accommodations, to have my gear at the location on time, to be picked up if something goes very wrong and to have tools and expertise on hand if something is wrong with my bike I can’t solve. You provided that ;-).
You’re just about 100%, in fact you are 100% on the stuff within your control.
We just love your tours! We love being able to eat our own food when we want to. You have a good process down!
2 cabs 3 buses 2 planes (thats one way) from Manhattan, everything was great.. Gary and staff did great job.
Gary of Atlantic Canada Cycling, was terrific and helped us even though we weren’t with his group. Saved us from missing ferry and being stuck for an extra week in Newfoundland.
Good job all around. No complaints. Thank-you for all tour time + effort. Much appreciated 🙂
This was my second tour – the first was so enjoyable, I wanted to do another. Well organized, good camping grounds, doable to a range of abilities. Wonderful tour in one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
Overall. I think that if you have an open mind for such a trip, that only good things can really be said. There is nothing negative that stands out in my mind of any consequence – I am very appreciative of the great time I had and hope to repeat in the future!
Loved cycling there. One of the best ACC trips.
Liked the group camaraderie, the scenery, the buzz, the style of the tour. Don’t change the style. Like a big group camping trip things go wrong, but if the attitude is right, it all works out.
Friendly people, good fun, spectacular scenery, sense of group togetherness.
We indeed found that Gary and his crew made the entire trip a real treat with the services readily available to help out. We met others who had also been on more than one of ACC Eastern Canada tours, so that also speaks well of how smoothly things are organized. The only real variable is the weather, which NOBODY can predict or change.
I consider your event the best bicycling tour experience I’ve ever had.
I did a lot of online research to do a tour on Prince Edward Island. Your tour was the most reasonably priced tour I could find. That tour was exceptional – there were 7 of us from Virginia that came up together to do the tour in 2005 and it was a wonderful experience for all of us. Since then I’ve returned several times to do other tours with ACC, all of them very well organized and I have many wonderful memories of touring all over the Maritimes.
Great job, great company.
It was a positive experience & the camping part worked out smoother than what I thought! I liked being part of a group , having some organized structure but yet being free to do what I wanted.
Trying to make everything work for people as long as it was within reason; friendliness & ease to approach; lots of heart and personal pleasure from all of you doing your best to make things work for everyone.
We were free to improvise go our way. Lots of options. We were lucky to have a great group of people!
It was a great experience with a really good, fun group and good logistical support. You have figured our an excellent set of systems to make these tours run super-smoothly.
I rode the whole distance on a wild moose chase.
I think Gary has done more for cycling than anyone in Eastern Canada. The service you provide is a great boost to the cycling community. You guys are the best.
I appreciated everyone’s efforts and how hard you all worked to make this a strong, supportive and fun event. Everyone did a great job, and I appreciated knowing you were all there. Overall, it was a challenging and immersive experience but a very rewarding one, and I am really grateful I got a chance to do it.
Down-to-earth, nice, funny, sense of humour, knowledgeable, kind, organized, caring attitides.
We really enjoyed the freedom to tour Nova Scotia seeing what we wanted and without needing deadlines.
(B.) and I would like to commend you and your staff for an absolutely wonderful bicycle trip around the eastern part of P.E.I. which we did with you. It was everything we expected and more. We were very impressed by the organization of the tour. Itineraries were very detailed and well planned, with suggestions for stops along the way, but at the same time extremely flexible so people could start, stop, and continue the trip at leisure.
I’m looking forward to next year already. You did a wonderful job!
I just wanted to say thank you in general for a wow tour. I thought you id a fine job of working hard to meet our needs and answer our unending questions.
Wow! How can we thank you enough for this life changing experience. You gave us such a gift! Thank you for being you!
A great trip of Eastern Nova Scotia. Thanks for sharing your beautiful piece of the world.
I loved it so much I wanted to do it again and share it with friends. There’s lots to write about: the lovely people we rode with and met along the way, the rugged beauty of Newfoundland, the hills, the wind, the rain. It was hard and challenging and rewarding. You’ve got to want to travel this way. You have to think the rewards outnumber the hardships. And you’ve got to train and get ready and make cycling fitness part of your life. That’s true for all of us.
We wanted to thank-you again for an awesome weekend! We really enjoyed our first tour with Atlantic Canada Cycling and look forward to more. We appreciate all you did to make sure that we were safe and secure on the trails and on the campsites.
Despite the weather is was a well-organized and run trip. It was the best way to see the Cabot Trail for my first time! Again thank you for all that you did.
We did the Cabot Trail on rented hybrids and had no trouble with the hills. Suggest you do some hill work prior to the tour. It’s a very nice scenic tour and ACC does a great job with supporting the riders. Enjoy.
It is a very nice Island you have and thanks for sharing it.
I would like to say thank you for one of the best event I have ever participated in. It was great. I do have one regret, it is that I never did it before now. I loved the people I met, a great bunch of people and your staff was very helpful and great to have around.
Well supported, well organized, well executed. Keep up the good work.
Congratulations on all your hard work – it is appreciated on our behalf. Makes the holiday so much easier for participants.
Superb! Couldn’t have been better. Nowhere to improve!
I loved it! The distances were manageable, the campgrounds were lovely and the biking was beyond amazing!!
Truly an inspired and inspiring tour. Great scenery, every day was different – scenery, weather, terrain. What a nice group of people I have met. Thanks and good luck.
A really pleasant tour. All expectations were met. As a result a greater understanding and appreciation of fellow Canadian citizens of an area different from my home. Really well organized, good daily maps and sites of local interest provided, tour personnel willing to assist and provide without hesitation.Really well done.
I will not hesitate to refer fellow cyclists to your tours.
Meeting people. Sharing stories. Visiting places off the beaten track. Rubbing elbows with the locals.
This is my first bike tour, and thanks to you it won’t be my last.
We are a family of four who did the PEI trip last summer. Our kids were 9 and 11 when we took the trip. We had taken two two-day trips to prepare for the trip, as well as some training runs at home. The kids enjoyed themselves, especially since all the adults seemed to take them under their respective wings. We took our time along the trail, and took many breaks. We were usually the last ones to arrive at the campsite, but somebody has to be last!!
Like the independence of the structure, not herding together of the whole group. Like the variety of eating, sleeping, and activities available. The organizing of the food in the crates with shopping along the way was superb. The cooking arrangements worked very well. There was plenty of hot water, dishes, soap, propane. All that was very good.
I consider your event the best bicycling tour experience I’ve ever had. Let’s hope it continues to prosper and be held for a long time.
It’s a once in a lifetime trip! Enjoy!
We asked one rider who’d taken all of Gary’s maritime tours, which one she’d enjoyed most. Without hesitation she said, “Newfoundland — for the scenery and the people!”
Thank you for leading an excellent cycling trip. It certainly met all my expectations. Hope to see you on another trip.
Since I’ve never attended one of these before I have nothing to compare it to but it seemed to be very well organized and run. Obviously a lot of work went into this.
Gary, thank you so much for your assistance to me during the Gaspé tour. The scenery was so spectacular. It was a mind blowing, often emotional, journey for me in Québec. You all have such a great passion for cycle touring that added to my enjoyment immensely. Encore une fois, je vous remercie pour un parcours inoubliable !
I like the whole thing… the group experience is important, the riding challenge is important, the support is vital, cooking together is fun, going to a restaurant together after a long ride is wonderful, and the scenery and the villages we pass through are delightful.
I highly recommend this trip. The camping facilities were great (I did stay in a B&B at Crows Head). Labrador was magnificent. I liked the idea of being able to hike, cycle and perhaps sea kayak all in one day. I would recommend bringing along some water proofed booties for cycling as we did have rain one evening. Also I recommend taking along warm clothes as it can get quite cool especially as you travel farther north. A good tent is essential too in case you get rain.
I met a great bunch of people on the Tour. Gary and his staff did a terrific job. It is a trip I could easily repeat and I highly recommend it as a place you must see.
Most enjoyable bicycle event I have attended.
You and your crew have an amazing way of making the days of cycling worry free. Hoping for next year and hoping you have some great tours this year.
Great job planning out route — everyone commented on how it progressed so perfectly day-by-day building up to the spectacular days of climbing on the Cabot Trail.
We feel we got more than our money’s worth.
Mixing camping and cycling together, two of my favorite things. Much more fun than hotel hopping – plus a bakery in every little town, met some great people, made for an epic event. Thanks to Gary and crew for a unforgettable vacation, hope to see you next year.
Beautiful scenery, well planned routes, nice camping areas, good showers, competent staff, usable information for each days’ activities. It is always nice when the people on the tour all get along and interact well together.
I enjoyed the previous tour I did with you and have the same positive feeling after completing this one. I will strongly recommend it to my friends and colleagues.
Congratulations on another fine trip. The tour allowed sufficient opportunities for additional mileage. The tour gives back more than what is paid for. Looking forward to next year if I can make it.
Awesome trip again! Thanks so much. Your help/patience is much appreciated.
But, I just wanted to check in with you all. It was such a super and beautiful time. What a way to get a feel for PEI and its people and places!
More spectacular than almost anything I saw on my Trans-America Trail ride across America back in 1978. I mean, they have FIORDS up there! You’ll see caribou and seals and waterfowl and maybe even whales. You may even see the polar bear we missed. You almost surely will see icebergs.
Remember, it may be July here in the States, but up there the weather is incredibly changeable. I mean, it can be 70 degrees and sunny and then 15 minutes later its 50 and rainy and then 15 minutes later and its 70 and sunny again.
You have been able to provide a person from the States a glimpse into the beauty and culture of a spectacular province. I have also got to hang out with cool Canadians. Thanks for your dedication and hard work.
Initial contact friendly. Sounded warm and trustworthy – like it would be worth the time and effort of getting there
Everything was so well organized and I felt safe and cared for throughout the entire trip.
When the eight days were over I was glad that I had done all of the climbs, seen all the great wildlife, and met all of the great people whom I hope to keep in touch with.
Another most excellent tour.
